Mavalério is a family-owned company, established in 1969 in São Paulo – Brazil, by Mr. Mario Valério. Ten years later, three young brothers, sons of Italian immigrants, bought the company from Mr. Valério. Over the next 50 years the family lead the company to international success as Mavalério quickly became the confectionery toppings market leader in Brazil and Latin America and developed a strong presence in North America. We have been exporting our sweet toppings into the USA for over 30 years, and in 2015 we opened a new manufacturing facility in Ashland, Virginia to better serve our customers. This proximity to our customers means having the same high-quality products, with faster lead times and personalized service.
In 2019 The Oetker Group, one of the largest family-run businesses in Germany with a baking history spanning more than 130 years, acquired Mavalério. Under Dr. Oetker ownership, Mavalério is part of a family of brands boasting a global network of manufacturing facilities and warehouses serving customers with a diverse cross-company portfolio of food products. This rich baking heritage is further supported by our managing company, Wilton Industries, Inc., which has a sweet 95 year history, expansive product line, and rich education-based origin designed to help consumers create sweeter moments. Today Mavalério is fully integrated with Wilton, operating out of our Naperville, IL headquarters and Romeoville, IL distribution center and we embody the company culture by focusing on the needs of our customers, utilizing market trends to build our portfolio, and embracing Wilton’s rich baking and decorating products portfolio. Our countless options of colors, textures, shapes, and packaging enhances our offering to the market and provides products that fit perfectly into all your recipes and creations.
